Criminal Justice: Forensics, A.A.S.

The AAS Degree Program in Criminal Justice: Forensics, is designed to assist the student in developing knowledge and skills in the area of law enforcement and forensics. This specialty will prepare a peace officer and student with the necessary background to perform as an evidence technician or for an orderly transfer to a Baccalaureate Degree Program in Forensic Science.

Associate of Applied Science Degree Plan

Degree Requirements (Total Credit Hours 67)

Social and Behavioral Sciences: 3 Credit Hours


Select 1 from the Social and Behavioral Sciences (80) Core 

Humanities or Visual/Performing Arts: 3 Credit Hours


Select 1 from the Humanities (40) Core 
Or
Select 1 from the Visual and Performing Arts (50) Core 

Exit Competencies


Students must pass each class with a grade of “C” or better.

Written Communication Competency:


ENGL 1301 - Composition I  and ENGL 1302 - Composition II 

Oral Communications Competency:


SPCH 1311 - Introduction to Speech Communication 

Mathematical Skill Competency:


THEA Mathematics passing score of 230
Or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 76 or higher
Or Any college-level mathematics course, MATH 1314 - College Algebra  , MATH 1332 - Contemporary Math I (Math for Liberal Arts Majors I)  , or equivalent
