The Court Reporting Computer-Aided Transcription (CAT) Associate of Applied Science degree prepares a Court Reporting Program student to use steno-writing to capture and transcribe notes at a minimum of 180 words per minute. The degree serves as the required teaching credential once the student has served three years as a Certified Shorthand Reporter.
A course may be used only once to fulfill degree requirements.
The student is encouraged to carefully examine requirements at the transfer institution. Requirements vary from institution to institution and can change from one year to the next.
