MATH 1324 - Mathematics for Business & Social SciencesMath Basic Skills Prerequisite: MATH 0320 The application of common algebraic functions, including polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, and rational, to problems in business, economics, and the social sciences are addressed. The applications include mathematics of finance, including simple and compound interest and annuities; systems of linear equations; matrices; linear programming; and probability, including expected value. (The content level of MATH 1324 is expected to be at or above the level of college algebra, MATH 1314 .) This course fulfills the Mathematics foundational component area of the core and addresses the following required objectives: Critical Thinking, Communication, and Empirical Quantitative Skills.
