Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - Academic/Technical The Administrative Computer Technology department offers a three-level certificate program followed by the Administrative Assistant AAS degree. These certificates and degrees are designed to meet the needs of students who primarily seek employment skills. The Administrative Assistant AAS is the fourth step in a ladder of three successive certificates—-Office Technician, 18 hours; Administrative Systems Specialist I, 30 hours; and Administrative Systems Specialist II, 45 hours followed by the 60-hour AAS degree. The program provides a solid foundation in general education and the depth in technical skills needed in the changing office environment. The overall focus of the computer classes in Administrative Technology is to provide students with quality instruction and many hours of “hands-on” experience at the computer. Students will be taught software packages that are currently used in the workplace.
