ASTR 1404 - Solar System Writing Basic Skills Prerequisite: ENGL 0301 Reading Basic Skills Prerequisite: READ 0303 Math Basic Skills Prerequisite: MATH 0302 This course is intended for non-science majors needing a laboratory science course. Topics include the origin and evolution of our solar system, including Newton’s and Kepler’s Laws, planetary atmospheres, surface processes (including impact cratering, volcanism, and plate tectonics), rings, moons, asteroids, and comets. Visits to the Scobee Planetarium and some field trips may be held for telescopic observation of interesting phenomena.
