Advanced Hazardous Materials, Level I Certificate

Return to: Programs and Courses - Protective Services The Advanced Hazardous Materials Level I prepares students to respond to emergencies involving Hazardous Materials and/or Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) for the purpose of analyzing the incident, selecting appropriate PPE and decontamination procedures, and implementing actions to mitigate the incident.
San Antonio College Fire Science degrees, certificates and awards are part of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) certification process. Students may receive academic credit for successful completion of TCFP-approved hazardous materials technician and hazardous materials incident commander courses. Successful completion of this Level I certificate allows students to take the TCFP structured exam in those areas.
Completion of a comprehensive end-of-course exam, with a minimum passing score of 70% is required for TCFP certification.
