ASTR 1403 - Stars and Galaxies
Integrated Reading & Writing Basic Skills Prerequisite: INRW 0420
Math Basic Skills Prerequisite: MATH 0320
This course is a descriptive course in stellar, galactic, and extra-galactic astronomy intended for non-science majors needing a laboratory science course. Lecture and laboratory topics include celestial coordinates, light and telescopes, stars, the Milky Way, external galaxies, cosmology, and dark matter. Visits to the Scobee Planetarium and some field trips may be held for telescopic observation of interesting phenomena.
