The Court Reporting Computer-Aided Transcription (CAT), Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), degree prepares a Court Reporting Program student to use machine shorthand to capture speech at a speed of 225 words per minute and transcribe notes with 96% accuracy. The student is prepared to take the CSR and RPR certification exams at the completion of the competencies. The degree also serves as the required teaching credential once the student has served three years as a Certified Shorthand Reporter.
