The Court Reporting Transcriptionist/Scopist Level 1 Certificate qualifies a beginning Court Reporting Program student to serve as an assistant to a professional court reporter and to transcribe and edit notes taken at depositions. The certificate is the basis for the progression toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in Court Reporting.

COURT REPORTING IS A SKILLS-BASED COURSE. WECM AND STATE GUIDELINES REQUIRE BEGINNING THEORY AND PROGRESSING THROUGH SPEED CLASSES UNTIL THE EXIT SPEEDS IS REACHED BY COMPLETING 2 MOCKS WITH 96% ACCURACY. THERE MAY BE REPETITIONS OF SPEED CLASSES UNTIL INDIVIDUAL SPEEDS ARE REACHED.
