Writing Basic Skills Prerequisite: ENGL 0301 Reading Basic Skills Prerequisite: READ 0303 This course is the study of basic principles and skill development In handling fire service hose and ladders. Topics included in this block are basic building construction, distribution system of water supply, emergency service communications, procedures, and equipment. This is the second in a series of courses designed for certification as a basic structural firefighter in Texas. All applicants must be able to do what is expected of a basic firefighter, lifting heavy loads, climbing fire department ladders, performing in confined space. All applicants must be able to complete all required testing in the allotted time for each test. No additional technology is allowed in classroom or testing locations.
