GEOG 2470 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems Writing Basic Skills Prerequisite: ENGL 0300 Reading Basic Skills Prerequisite: READ 0303 Math Basic Skills Prerequisite: MATH 0302 This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of vector geographic information systems (GIS). Studies include the nomenclature of cartography and geography. In the laboratory, students will study methods of geographic data collection, including global positioning system (GPS) entry, storage, retrieval, and output.
