Engineering Technologies
The Department offers academic programs in Architecture and Engineering, academic courses in Physics, and Technical courses in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and Surveying Technology.
Computer-aided drafting (CAD), also known as computer -aided drafting and design (CADD), is the use of computer technology for the process of producing plans, diagrams, and presentations for residential, commercial, and industrial development. Our courses include both architectural drafting for building construction documentation and mechanical drafting for civil and industrial infrastructure as well as machine components. San Antonio College offers a Level I Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting Operations and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in General Computer Aided Drafting Technology.
The Surveying Technology courses are designed to prepare students for entry level positions in the field of surveying as well as to help those already in the field increase their knowledge and eligibility for promotion. Students will gain a professional knowledge of computer use and network file management, and be able to use AutoCAD and other software to create drawings utilized in land development and construction.
